Building a laptop this summer (need Help)?

So this summer I've decided to build my own laptop. I have really no idea how to build it. What are the things do I need? How am I gonna do it? Is it really possible? Am I better off buying an old laptop and just adding parts to make it better? What do I need to make the laptop fast? Do you have any links that could help me?
